One of Taiwan's beautiful red teas, cultivated from a cultivar thats indigenous to Taoyuan township north west Taiwan. Originally the Tea name is Mixiang which is translated to honey flavored or honey fragrance. This taste profile does not come naturally for this tea. It only occurs when the tea plantation is visited by the Jacobiasca Formosana also called the tea green leafhopper, which is an insect from the grasshopper family that lives on feeding on specific plants mostly cotton and tea plants. once this leafhopper visits the tea plantation and feed on the tea leaves, tea trunks and vines, the tea bush raises its defenses and that chemical reaction with the bug bite changes the tree chemical structure giving us a wonderful honey sweet tea once the tea leaves finish the tea making process.
This is similar to events that occur to the Oriental Beauty Oolong which is produced in the Neighboring township and considered one of the sweetest Teas there is.
the main difference here is this tea is processed to be a Red tea.
